Meet Our Friend: The Mini (…again?!)

Back in April, we informed you that, due to circumstances totally out of our control, we had to change our name to “miniloco”.

We claimed that all things “mini” are:
• Less messy
• Less fattening
• Much cuter
• Perfect for a snack
• Perfect for a late night meal

In addition, we stated that miniature sized (and priced) items allow for menu exploration, so that you can try more of what we offer without a substantial hit to the wallet, purse, or stomach.

“Wait”, you say, “all of these things are true!”

Well, in fact, you’d be right.

Eventually, you found out that we hadn’t really changed our name and were still the “boloco” that you all knew and loved. However, we spent the next two weeks offering our “disturbingly small” minis in mini bundles. You could get 2 minis for $7 or 3 minis for $9. Any additional minis cost just $3.

Since that time, we’ve heard many people clamoring for the chance to satisfy multiple flavor fixes at once. You have spoken and we have listened…

Back by popular demand, starting TODAY and for the next 4 weeks (through 9/29/10) you can get any of our mini burritos or bowls in bundles. The price? 2 minis for $7 and 3 minis for $9. Each additional mini is, once again, just $3. The only catch…they have to be different flavors. Consider this your invitation to join us on a culinary journey around the boloco menu.

Yes indeed, the world has gotten a wee bit…smaller.

P.S. On Sunday, September 26th, cyclists of all shapes, sizes, and skill levels will descend upon City Hall Plaza in the heart of downtown Boston for the 2010 Hub on Wheels Citywide ride & festival and the Mayor’s Cup Boston Pro Cycling Race & Festival, featuring the Boloco Block Party. What can be found at this “Block Party”? We’ll have live music, a kids zone, a bike stunt course, bleacher seating to watch the races, and a picnic area to relax and enjoy a boloco burrito. In addition, this event will mark the debut of boloco’s newest creation, a bike-powered smoothie-blending masterpiece that represents Boston’s most delicious source of renewable energy.

Want to ride? We’ve got plenty of room on Team Boloco and we even have a few complimentary registrations to give out to our favorite fans. If riding isn’t your forte, that’s cool… we’ve got an alternative. We have some VIP passes to the afternoon’s Mayor’s Cup professional races, which entitle you (and a friend) to complimentary food and beverages at the Boloco Block Party. If you’re interested in either of these perks, just post on our Facebook wall why you think that bikes and burritos make such a great pair (bonus points if you send a picture of you on your bike enjoying a boloco burrito… or better yet wearing one of our custom-made boloco bike jerseys to buzz@boloco.com- and make sure you let us know if you want to ride or relax!). If you’re a cyclist, be sure to keep an eye out on Facebook and Twitter over the next few weeks because we’ll be doing something special those of you brave enough to bike on over to your local boloco.

P.P.S. Are you a former, current, or perhaps future “Mayor” of your local boloco? If so, then you’ll want to check boloco.com/foursquare for the latest updates on our Foursquare promotions. For the month of September, all Mayors will be able to participate in Mayor Mondays. From now until the end of the month, boloco foursquare Mayors will receive free burritos for themselves and up to 2 friends whenever they visit their local bolocos on a Monday (mayor and 2 friends must be present).

Incredible offer for foursquare Mayors! I’m a mayor of a Panera and Fresh City, however they’re not on board with foursquare yet. If only Boloco was closer to where I work (Burlington, MA…hint hint…we need a good burrito shop badly!!!).

This was an annoying email…basically an advertisement, nothing more. I thought I signed up for special offers and news, not your marketing gimmick of the week?

  5. capribos says:

So this is kind of wrong because I was trying not to each so much Boloco this month =) I have gotten a few people in my office hooked on your burritos already … and they’re liking this deal. =)

  6. capribos says:

  7. PSK says:

I love Boloco but it would be really nice the get the minilocos in the whole wheat tortilla. I would certainly buy them then.

  8. Rob says:

    Wow.
As pathetic and boring as my life is, and it IS both, I’m guess I should be happy that I have only vaquest idea of what 4square is, and that I’m the mayor of noplace.

  9. jari says:

Haven’t tried the mini’s and have only sampled the teri and memphis SO, AS ALWAYS YOU’RE GREAT – mini bowls….

  10. Alison Martin says:

Any chance you can extend this deal another week? I need to feed 38 people next week (10/5) and the minis would be perfect! Unfortunately, i have a limited budget, but if the deal is still going, that would be perfect!
