Introducing Bayou Jambalaya!
Posted October 21st, 2009.Tweet
NOW AVAILABLE! We’re chooglin’ down to New Orleans with the introduction of our new Bayou Jambalaya, featuring a spicy Andouille sausage jambalaya with pinto beans. We recommend adding the chicken, but choose whatever kind of meat you want! The tofu and fajita veggies are obviously also an option, but the sausage is part of the jambalaya, so this one can’t be vegetarian. Sorry!
It’s been available since October 28th. Have a boloco card? If it was registered, you got a free Bayou Jambalaya on there. If it’s not registered yet, make sure you go set that up so we can include you next time!

I cannot wait to try this one!!
Is this legit?? A real Cajun finally?
Yummy!!Can”t wail. I know where I’ll be going for lunch tomorrow. As close to the “Dirty South” as I can get here in NH.
Two suggestions:
1. Remove the dough conditioners and hydrogenated oils from your tortillas.
2. Remove sodium nitrite from the bacon and sausage.
Had one today and loved it. The only slight complaint would ne that I think it would be a little better if there were more pieces of sausage which could just using more sausage pieces with each one a little smaller. Mine only had two pieces and when I got to them it sort of overwhelmed the taste.
I love spicy food and I love Boloco, so the Bayou burrito is perfect for me.
Burritos + Bites,
Jackie
Trying it tomorrow – woo!
Yum! Me want more sausage!
Hi Guys! This is a generous, but the burrito is not your best. My burrito, unaltered, was bland. I expected a rating of 1 Raised Eyebrow for a stock Jambalaya burrito. Sadly, no. Those Guys spicy chicken sandwich had noticeably more taste. Back to Summer + Guacamole for me.
I LOVED the sausage! I wish there had been slightly more of them…but the pieces I did have were delicious. This is one of my favorite burritos yet – distinctive but accessible enough for everyday eating. Loved it.
I’m always interested in trying new Boloco Burritos. This one, however, wasn’t quite up to my expectations. Now, I’m not a Jambalaya aficionado, but I felt that Boloco’s version was not as flavorful as it could have been. I do always get the burrito bowls, so I’m not sure if this has something to do with it.
Keep up the good work though!
I tried one last week and was underwhelmed. It lacked flavor and spice and the red beans seemed a bit undercooked. I wanted to like this but the sauce was too thin and the pow was well, not there.
I’m sure you’ll tweak it and I’ll try it again, but upon first bite (and last), this one didn’t do it for me.
But, lest I seem ungrateful, thanks for the chance to try it for free! Now, that is good customer service.
It was pretty good overall, I agree there could be more sausage…
I very much appreciated the free burrito. I’m a Boloco fan but I won’t be ordering the Bayou Jambalaya again. It wasn’t all that spicy, and the combination of flavors did not work for me.
The burrito did nothing for me, will not get it again, i did not taste the sausage in it.
The flavors were good, but didn’t get enough sausage in my large burrito
I liked the Jambalaya…I would like larger pieces and more amounts of andouille sausage (and shrimp!!! in it) But I’m ok with no shrimp at this time. Great taste!
It was fine since it was free; however, I got bored eating it and I’ll order something else when I’m paying for it. Bring back The Yucatan!
I enjoyed my first Bayou-Jambalaya as a refuel during a long run (yes you CAN eat these on the run, but it is better to stop and savor the flavor THEN run) last night and have to give a big thumbs up for the subtle punch of spice and flavor that sticks with you. I had it with wheat tortilla, brown rice, and pork to go with the andouille and was quite happy.
My only recommendation would be to toss in some okra as well.
I wish the insides were all mixed up. In one bite, I get a mouth full of bland rice. In the next bite, I get a mouth full of spicy filling. It’s like those separate hot and cold water faucets that you find in old buildings.
Ok…tried it yesterday… Pretty good…but i would add some celery or cucumbers to make it more refreshing!
Excellent Burrito. I wish there was more sausage in the mix though. Or if you could include the sausage as a mix-in for any burrito (instead of chicken, steak, etc.)
Got one and loved it! Good job!
Very much love the taste and savory flavors in this burrito. Would love to have the option of adding the sausage to other burritos.
I got the Jambalaya Bowl, with chicken, no extras other than what it came with.
The catch is, I recently injured myself and my jaw is wired shut, so I actually had to blend this together with chicken broth at home to eat it. Against all odds, it was still really good.
The sauce and sausages had a powerful savory flavor that resisted dilution by the broth and really hit the spot for a guy who’s suffering on food options.
Thanks, Boloco, for throwing a guy a bone when he needed it most.
Damn good burrito!
Bring on the sausage!
I really wasn’t impressed. There were two tiny pieces of dried-out sausage and they didn’t put in the chicken I asked for at all. Sorely disappointed!
Great addition loved it!
Delish!
I tried this last week. Perfect amount of spice!
I second the sausage comment, more Andouille sausage!!
Great addition, loved it, I second the sausage comment, more Andouille sausage!!
Well I was born on the bayou, that’s right: Mobile, Alabama, and among my favorite things to do are sing Sweet Home Alabama while strummmin on my guitar, hit the slopes all winter long, and chow down on the Bayou Jambalaya burrito. Way to go Boloco, keep em’ comin!
It was runnier than the other burritos which made for messy eating, but I appreciate the gung ho-ness with which Boloco puts out new items. Keep at it, guys!
This burrito sounds amazing – in my dreams it is made with veggie sausage and the same (delicious, tangy, i’m sure) jambalaya, but alas, I’m vegan and cannot partake in this new creation. For now I’ll have to settle for other Boloco treats and homemade jambalaya.
I loved it!! Great flavor, terrific taste!!
Sounds delicious, but I’m a veggie, so had to go with my usual (Bankok). No way to make this veggie? Pretty please?
I would suggest to turn up the heat on this one..Other than that it looks good.
More hot sauce, please!
Very impressive, if perhaps a bit too salty. Good combination of flavors. Once again, Boloco continues to be more creative than the much larger Chipotle.
Liked it but not my fave. I agree with there not being enough sausage and the pieces that were in there could have been smaller. also, more veggies would be good…peppers and celery perhaps. I had this with brown rice in a bowl and thought the spice was just enough.
Loved it. Really good with guacamole.
This was an excellent combo, I tried it with steak but next time I want to try it with pork. I felt like I was back in the Big Easy.
It was good, but I wish it had more spicy flavor. Still on the mild side and in need of the habanero sauce.
I love your stuff, but frankly I didn’t like the Bayou burrito at all. It was too messy, and really didn’t have much flavor in my opinion. Keep up thinking up new things; that is a strength for Boloco. But for me, this one doesn’t cut it.
Going to pick up my Bayou Burrito right now…can’t wait.
I liked the flavors of the Bayou Burrito. I agree that it could be spicier (OK yes, I still miss the Yucatan)
Had one with pork. Liked the flavor, but definitely agree more sausage is needed!
I like the taste. You are definitely not getting a bowl of full-on Jambalaya, but it is a good addition to the Boloco menu. There is neve enough sausage. Yum !
