Meet Our Friend: The Bowl!

With Earth Day around the corner, we figured the time was right to introduce you to our compostable and biodegradable friend, the bowl.

To celebrate, starting this Thursday (4/14/10) and for the next TWO WEEKS, you can purchase any Original-size bowl for just $5, but that’s not all!

In the spirit of giving, for each and every bowl (yes, that goes for Mini and Small sizes, too) that we sell over the next two weeks, we’re going to donate $1 to a local green organization.

Visit our facebook page and nominate your favorite green cause. Be sure to let everyone know why your organization rocks because the non-profits that receive the most “thumbs up” will be featured on a boloco.com poll to determine who will receive some “green” to help make the Earth just a little bit greener.

Save a couple hundred calories and a little bit of planet… sweet!

I hope you donate to Jane Goodall Foundation. Her work with saving Chimps from loss of habitat, poaching and be killed for bush meat is devastating. I am seeing her speak on May 3rd in Harvard Univ. This would be a great surprise to her and her foundation. She also has started Root and Shoots to get children involved.
I pasted in this email info – her mission, values etc (http://www.janegoodall.org/)

    Mission
Founded by renowned primatologist Jane Goodall, the Jane Goodall Institute is a global nonprofit that empowers people to make a difference for all living things. Our work builds on Dr. Goodall’s scientific work and her humanitarian vision. Specifically, we seek to:

Improve global understanding and treatment of great apes through research, public education and advocacy
Contribute to the preservation of great apes and their habitats by combining conservation with education and promotion of sustainable livelihoods in local communities
Create a worldwide network of young people who have learned to care deeply for their human community, for all animals and for the environment, and who will take responsible action to care for them

    Core Values
    Our Core Values
There are several core values that inform everything we do:

We strive to respect, nourish and protect all living things; people, animals and the environment are all interconnected
We believe that knowledge leads to understanding, and that understanding will encourage us to take action
We believe that every individual has the ability to make a positive difference
We believe that flexibility and open-mindedness are essential to enable us to respond to a changing world
We require integrity and compassion in all that we do and say
