Look outside… the sun is shining and the flowers are blooming and that means that Summer has arrived (well, it doesn’t “officially” arrive until the Summer Solstice on the 21st of June, but that’s beside the point).
The temperature is rising and its just seems right to celebrate the arrival one of our four favorite seasons with something to cool you off every time you enjoy our very own “Summer.”
That’s right, starting TODAY and through July 7, 2010, any time you purchase (online or in-store) our version of The Summer (burrito or bowl, of course) you can add any Mini smoothie or shake for just $1.95.
After all, it’s summertime and the livin’s easy!
P.S. Summer also happens to be event season in New England. This past weekend, we had a blast at the 25th AIDS Walk Boston. We fed the volunteers and a few hundred walkers and raised an additional $330 with Boloco Pong Toss. All told, we were able to donate just over $1,600 to the AIDS Action Committee to help them save lives. Thank you to everyone who tossed 3 Boloco Pong Balls, bought a salad, or donated their change over the last 3 weeks!
Next up for us is the JP Morgan Corporate Challenge on June 24th, where we’ll be shelling out thousands of Mini burritos to those brave enough to leg out 3.5 miles after a long, hard day at the office. Stop by and see us on Boston Common!
I eat at Boloco’s at least 3 time a week. I am a vegetarian and love you menu. Please consider using ORGANIC brown rice and vegies.

Regarding your poll, my card is registered but for some reason I did NOT get notified about a free birthday burrito. The local store manager kindly gave me one, but I wonder what went wrong?

Thank you for writing in (and for loving our menu)! We would love to be able to sell organic rice and veggies but at this point the cost to do that would require us to sell a burrito for around $10, and it would likely be a challenge to get our customers to shell out that much, no matter how good the ingredients might be. I am in the process of working out a deal with a local farm that may be able to get us some organic produce for a limited time. It’s not easy to source local, organic items, considering how many restaurants we have and the usage. I will keep you posted on our efforts.

Just a quick note to thank you for making such great “fast food”. It’s perfect for me on the go at lunchtime. It’s Laconia Bike Week up ehre and I’lve been getting great joy from directing my clients who are in for the week to stop off and try your food on their way through!
Just had a Summer burrito for the first time. It was great! Didn’t go for the smoothie offer, but it was nice to vary from my usual choice (the Thai burrito).
