Pan-Mass Challenge Rider: Alessandra Hobler

My name is Alessandra Hobler and this will be my first ride with the PMC! I am very passionate about giving back to the community. I love to volunteer and try to make a positive impact in other people’s lives as much as possible. After being introduced to the PMC, I couldn’t have imagined a better way to raise money for a cause that affects many people around the world. My ride will be one for families everywhere but also personally in honor for some very special people in my life.

A man very dear to me, my Grandfather or Poppy as I called him lost his battle to cancer. To me there was nothing that my Poppy couldn’t fix from a broken window to a broken heart; he was always there to put the pieces back together. However one day he received the ever dreaded diagnosis of cancer. Time seemed to stop and suddenly there was something even he could not fix. The grace, dignity, and selflessness he showed throughout his battle are an ever strong support and example to me each day.

I have also been fortunate enough to be welcomed into a beautiful family whose support and love for others is truly inspiring. My boyfriend Timothy LaRose who nominated me for this sponsorship has the giving heart and unwavering faith that his mother Christine LaRose showed throughout her fight against ovarian cancer. Christine was an ever beautiful wife, mother and so much more.

I will ride through the summer wind for family, in honor of James and Christine, and for hope that through this ride we will be able to allow families everywhere to share even more precious memories with each other.

I can’t thank everyone enough for their support. Together we will make a difference!!!
