Snowloco!
- When: Feb 10, 2010
- Where: all boloco stores
So, a year ago today it was 58 degrees and sunny. And 6,058 of you chose to visit us at Boloco throughout New England.
This year, especially in Boston, things don't look quite as bright:
* Windy. Morning snow showers will evolve into a heavy snow for the afternoon and evening tapering to snow showers overnight. 6 to 10 inches of total snow expected. High 33F. Low near 25F. Winds N to NE at 20 to 30 mph. Winds could occasionally gust over 40 mph.
* Mayor Menino has declared a snow emergency for the city of Boston effective at 8AM
* The Boston TV networks are scaring the bejesus out of everyone reminding us of 3 hour commutes from Copley to Charlestown in 2007... not to mention further into the burbs.
Terrific. Somewhere between preparation, reality and classic dramatization, if we're lucky, we'll see 4,000 of you. But even that's a stretch.
So, let's see if we can't dial something up that will change that. And even though the snow diminishes to a dusting as you go north, those of you reading in NH and VT are included... we need everyone's help!
Here's the deal:
1) anyone who braves the "storm" and purchases a regular (or large/original) burrito, bowl, salad, or wrap TODAY after 11am and keeps his/her RECEIPT (ask for it) will receive a free menu item of equal or lesser value when he/she presents that receipt anytime on Thursday 2/11/10 or Friday 2/12/10.
We know, we know. It's not quite as good as a Free Burrito Day. And it's been a while since we pulled one of those off. So how about this for a little extra incentive...
2) if more than 6,058 of you show up and buy something at all of our restaurants in New England today (Wednesday), we'll celebrate our upcoming 13th Anniversary with a Free Burrito Day at all Bolocos. That's very likely a 20,000+ burrito giveaway bonanza.
Being totally honest, we feel like this second piece is a pretty safe bet... don't let a little snow (or no snow in some cases!) prove us right!
Meet Our Friend: The Buffalo
- When: Feb 15, 2010
- Where: all boloco stores
A few days before the big game, we're kicking off a special with our own "All-American."
Through 2/15/10, any time you order a Buffalo burrito or bowl (in-store only), you can get white meat chicken at no extra cost (usually a dollar more than our other proteins).
P.S. We just found out that this Friday (2/5/10) is World Nutella Day and, since we love to celebrate new holidays, and sometimes, we even create them on our own (remember BurriNO Day), we've decided to do a mini Nutella milkshake for $1 when you buy any burrito or bowl. Careful...it's addictive.
P.P.S. When you're formulating your game plan for Super Bowl Sunday, don't forget to account for boloco! We're offering six regular-size burritos or bowls for $25.
